AMSAC
has an elected committee (reviewed at the AGM in October) which holds
meetings to discuss issues such as the running of the club, training etc.
Please find below the members of the committee (correct at time of
printing). Chairman -
Pete Shaw Welcome to AMSAC.
I would like to say that if you can commit the time and energy to
the sport of scuba diving then the rewards will be proportionate.
You only get out what you put in!
Enjoy the sport at your own pace and you will be hooked for life. Diving Officer -
Jeff Hickman Hi…my job is to make sure
all diving trips and training sessions are operated as safely as possible.
I oversee all aspects of training from beginners to advanced
diving, plus all internal and external courses.
There are wide ranges of courses to attend - diving itself is only
the start. I am responsible
for all divers within the club, so if anyone is going diving anywhere,
please let me know! Treasurer - Deb
Vaughan I have been asked to write
some words of wisdom, “Give me all your money!”. Well that is all I
seem to ask, however it is for a good cause - our diving club!
I am also responsible for all outgoing payments such as boat
maintenance & storage charges, pool hire, insurance costs etc.
An expenditure statement is prepared for the AGM.
Secretary - Andy
Walvin The secretary is responsible
for arranging and taking the minutes for all meetings and any
correspondence that occurs for club business. Organising the AGM and
dealing with any proposals club members wish to bring up at the AGM,
maintaining members records, club constitution & rule book. Boating Officer-
Bernard Turner The Boating Officer maintains
the clubs rigid inflatable boat (RIB). We have one club boat and there are
two other boats owned by club members. The general upkeep of the boat is
paid for out of the club subs. Divers
using the boat for trips pay for the boat fuel and towing costs for that
trip. Equipment Officer -
Andy Turner Hello…my role is to look
after all diving kit. This
involves issuing of equipment to the trainees, maintenance of the kit,
ensuring servicing intervals are adhered to, booking kit in and out for
open water dives and keeping records of all this for inventory purposes. Social Events –
Jill Hewitt & Diane Lindley Our goal is to get everyone
together as often as possible to help raise money for the club. As we are a voluntary club we try to keep the subscription
costs low but this requires other means of income.
Past events included a treasure hunt, mystery pub crawl and bowling
night and a Christmas party. Please
let us have any ideas for future events! |
