Welcome!

Welcome to the Abraham Moss Sub Aqua Club or AMSAC for short. We are a fairly small but well equipped diving club whose aim is to provide you with training and opportunities to go out diving as much as possible. Training is provided on a voluntary basis by other divers and overseen by the British Sub Aqua Club qualified instructors.

The British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC - www.bsac.com) has 45,000 members and more than 1,600 branches worldwide, making it the biggest diving club in the world. AMSAC’s branch number is 0842. BSAC governs all aspects of the training within the club.

AMSAC meets up every Tuesday at the Abraham Moss Leisure Centre where our club has sole access to the pool from 20.45 to 22.00pm. The pool time is primarily for training new recruits in the use of the scuba equipment. Other club members use the pool for recreation or trying out new pieces of kit. After the pool session, we usually go to the local pub to organise dives for the following weeks to ensure we are diving as much as possible.

Below Zero at Oban.

AMSAC has one large RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) which is called Below Zero and there are two other RIB’s owned by club members. Click here or on Pic for more photos!

Diving is an unbelievably fun, exciting and enjoyable sport that enables you to go and see places that few people will ever experience. The club has dive kit available for new trainees therefore the initial outlay is minimised. However as you progress, it will be necessary for you to start to purchase your own kit. As you probably know diving is not a cheap sport but club members will be able to advise you on the best deals.
